Levi Gettleman
TAS Youth Advisor
Levi Gettleman joined the Temple Ahavat Shalom staff in September 2024 as our Youth Advisor.
Levi is a second year Rabbinical and education student at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and a JDC-Weitzmann fellow. Levi grew up in Phoenix, AZ and Seattle, WA before attending Indiana University where he earned his B.A. in Jewish Studies and Folklore/Ethnomusicology.
Levi’s time in NFTY, and his temples’ youth groups inspired his decision to pursue a career as a Jewish professional. At Temple B’nai Israel in Oklahoma City, Levi helped to rebuild the youth group, kindle a new connection with NFTY, and create intentional community for teens through programming and informal education activities. Levi has attended URJ Camp Newman as a camper (2010-2018), staff member (2019-2020), and unit head (2021-2024). Through Camp Newman, Levi was a Foundation for Jewish Camp Cornerstone Fellow (2020) and Senior Cornerstone Fellow (2021).
In his spare time, Levi can often be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes or taking part in trivia quizzes, crossword puzzles, and more.
Levi‘s infectious energy and experience working with youth is an exciting addition to our TAS team.
