Rabbi Dalia Samansky
Religious School Director
Rabbi Dalia Samansky is beyond thrilled to have come home to Temple Ahavat Shalom. As both the place she began her religious education (with TAS teaching legend Mrs. Liberman) and the first community she served as an Assistant Rabbi upon her ordination from Hebrew Union College in 2009, Rabbi Samansky sees TAS as her spiritual and professional home.
Rabbi Samansky graduated Brandeis University with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Near East and Judaic Studies. After graduation she worked as a Director of Education in two Boston synagogues before entering Rabbinic School. In both temples Rabbi Samansky was charged with evaluating and updating the curriculum and reinvigorating the youth programs.
Since 2009 Rabbi Samansky has been on the faculty of the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. There she teaches adult courses on Torah, basic Jewish theology, Jewish parenting, general Jewish history, American Jewish history, and denominationalism. Before returning to TAS, Rabbi Samansky worked for two years as the rabbi for Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf and as a hospice chaplain, where she guided hospice patients and their families through the final stages of life and the bereavement process.
Rabbi Samansky’s life is enriched by her wonderful husband Jason and their beautiful daughters Naomi and Tova. As a family they love to travel and explore new places near and far.
